04.25.08 BARN AT SUGARTOWN
Station 54 was dispatched to assist Malvern for a barn fire. Deputy 54 arrived on scene to report a barn fully involved. Goshen's two engines assisted with water supply and fire attack with master streams.

04.22.08 WOODS GARRETT MILL RD
Stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for a smoke investigation. Assistant 54 arrived in the area to discover about one acre of woods burning. Assistant 54 requested that Tac-4 and E4-5 were added to the assignment. All habds were in service with forestry lines, and 1 3/4" lines to extinguish the fire. No surrounding property was damaged.

04.12.08 MVA Rt 3 & Stoneham Rd
Stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for an MVA reported serious. Units arrived on scene to find a one vehicle accident where the vecicle had knocked off a fire hydrant and a traffic light pole. PennSTAR 1 transported the patient to HUP.

02.16.08 Truck Fire Wright's Lane
Station 56 was dispatched for a tractor trailer fire. Asst 54 arrived on scene to report multiple tractors fully involved and upgraded the assignment to full company response. Crews utilized hand lines from E56 and E54-1 with class B foam to extinguish the fire. L56 and E54-2 supplied tank water to E56 and E54-1.

2.16.08 Dwelling Wyndham Lane
Stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for a dwelling fire early in the morning. Chief 54 arrived on scene and reported that the fire had been mostly extinguished by the homeowner and held the reponse to E54-1 and L56. Crews overhauled the exterior of the garage/Laundry room area.

2.12.08 Dwelling 1300 block E Strasburg Road
Stations 54 and 56 were initially dispatched for a smoke investigation in the area of Reservoir Road and West Chester Pike. A subsequent 911 caller identified a dwelling fire in the 1300 block E Strasburg Road. The call was then upgraded by Chester County Fire Board to a dwelling fire and the next dispatch reported a dwelling fire with entrapment. Chief 54 arrived on location reporting all floors heavily involved and requested two additional engines, which brought Good Will Fire Company, St. 52, with E52-1 and E52-2. Goshen crews went into a defensive attack utilizing three 1 3/4" hand lines, one 2" hand line, one 2 1/2" blitz line, a blitz fire ground monitor as well as aerial master streams from Tower 54 and Quint 56. Additional apparatus was requested with Fame, St. 53 and Malvern, St. 4, responding with E53 and Rescue 4. Crews were in service for over 4 hours battling sub-freezing temperatures and heavy icing resulting in a treacherous fire scene. There was one civilian fatality. The fire is under investigation by PA State Police, Chester County and East Goshen Fire Marshalls. Assisting Goshen on scene were E52-1, E52-2, E53, Rescue 4, Air Light 52, DELCO canteen 47, Medic 91, A55-3, FM 53, FM 103, FM 104, FM 109, PA State Police FM as well as East Goshen Township and PennDOT. 2.01.08 MVA WC Pike near Blarney Stone
Stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for a serious auto accident on Rt. 3. Upon completion of extrication of the occupants of the vehicle one was flown by PennSTAR 2 to HUP, one was taken by Goshen Ambulance to Crozer-Chester Trauma Center and one was taken to Chester County Hospital. The accident is under investigation by the West Goshen Police Department.

1.27.08 WOODS SARATOGA LN
Stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for a woods fire. Crews arrived on scene to find a small area of leaves and brush on fire which was quickly extinguished. This fire was started by juvenilles playing with a lighter.

As crews were arriving at station 54 for drill stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for an auto accident with entrapment. Units arrived on scene and found one pick up truck with the driver still confined in the cab. Goshen firefighters stabilized the truck and removed the windshield to extricate the driver.

12.25.07 Chimney-Dwelling @ Sycamore Dr.
Stations 54 and 56 were initially dispatched for a chimney fire. The call was upgraded to a house as units were pulling out of the stations. Crews went in service with hand tools and extinguishers and opened up the walls in the attic and second floor master bedroom to access the chimney. Damage was limitied to the chimney area. FM-100 was called to the scene.

12.10.07 MVA Rt 3 @ Torchiana Automotive
Stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for an MVA with entrapment. Units arrived on scene to find one vehicle down an embankment with the driver entrapped. The victim was extricated and taken by ground to Crozier Trauma for Medivac helicopter was not available due to weather.

Stations 54 and 56 were dispatched for an MVA with confinement. Units arrived to find one vehicle on its side with the driver still inside the vehicle. The driver was able to self extricate with directions from fire company personel.

11.23.07 Oven/House Karen Lane
Stations 54 and 56 were initially dispatched for an oven fire. The assignment was upgraded by Captain 56 to a dwelling when fire was found to have spread into the cabinets and walls extending to the second floor. Goshen was assisted on the call by E52-1, E52-2, E6-2 and medic 91.
