August 23 Rapid Intervention Operations – Overview and Exercise
The scheduled fire training session for next Monday evening is Rapid Intervention Team - Overview and Evolution.
Shawn Carney, who has attended a number of training courses and conference sessions on Rapid Intervention Team operations, will be coordinating the drill with the assistance of several other GFC members.
The training session will be a "hands-on" session on the "Denver Drill," a recognized technique for removing a downed firefighter through a window. Shawn has researched and built a simulator that will be used during the practical evolutions.
